Garden State Equality is proud to collaborate with Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and Sanofi Foundation to offer a full day healthcare conference on issues of access, representation, and care affecting our community.
As the Affordable Care Act comes under attack, we’re providing a keynote address on what the ACA has meant for LGBT health. Professor Christina Ho, an expert on healthcare law, will present on LGBT Americans and the Affordable Care Act. Currently of Rutgers University Law School, Dr. Ho is the former Country Director for the Clinton Foundation in China. She also worked on the White House Domestic Policy council during the Clinton Administration as well as Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s legislative staff. She joined Rutgers Law from the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center where she founded the China Health Law Initiative.
Other topics at the conference will include LGBT legal rights, intersectionality, federal support services available to the LGBT community and the unique concerns of LGBT seniors.
Free blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose screenings will also be available. In addition, representatives from LGBT friendly health care providers will offer information and resources for attendees.
